Rear Door Skin Panel

Removal

NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.

  1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this section, refer to Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

    Refer to: Body Repair Health and Safety and General Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
  1. Rebuild or install new as necessary.
  1. Refer to: Rear Window Glass - Vehicles With: 4-Door (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, Removal and Installation).
  1. Refer to: Rear Door (501-03 Body Closures, Removal and Installation).
  1. Refer to: Exterior Rear Door Handle (501-14 Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems, Removal and Installation).
  1. General Equipment : Hot Air Gun
  1. General Equipment : Grinder
  1. General Equipment : Grinder
  1. General Equipment : Knife
    General Equipment : Hot Air Gun

Installation

  1. Material : Metal Bonding Adhesive / TA-1
  1. Install and partially flange.
  1. Tack weld.
    General Equipment : MIG/MAG Welding Equipment
  1. NOTE: Smooth residual adhesive squeeze-out in to seam to act as a sealer.

    Complete the hemming process.
  1. Apply a Ford approved primer.
  1. Material : Seam Sealer / TA-2
  1. Refinish the hem area using a Ford approved paint system.
  1. Refer to: Rear Door (501-03 Body Closures, Removal and Installation).
  1. Refinish the door exterior using a Ford approved paint system.
  1. Install NVH pads as indicated (obtain locally).
  1. Material : Fusor® Flexible Foam Repair / 121
  1. Refer to: Exterior Rear Door Handle (501-14 Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems, Removal and Installation).
  1. Refer to: Rear Door Window Glass (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, Removal and Installation).
  1. Restore corrosion protection.
