Transmission - 1.6L Duratec-16V Ti-VCT (88kW/120PS) - Sigma

1. Refer to: Cowl Panel Grille (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12A Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 1.6L Duratec-16V Ti-VCT (88kW/120PS) - Sigma, Removal and Installation).
   

1. If equipped.
   

1. Refer to: Front Halfshaft LH (205-04 Front Drive Halfshafts, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04A Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).
   

1. NOTICE: Do not use a prying device or separator fork between the ball joint and the wheel knuckle. Damage to the ball joint or ball joint seal may result. Only use the pry bar by inserting it into the lower arm body opening.

   NOTICE: Use care when releasing the lower arm and wheel knuckle into the resting position or damage to the ball joint seal may result.

1. NOTE: Do not pull on the outer part of the halfshaft or the CV joint will separate. Always pull on the inner part of the halfshaft.

1. Install the following items:

   • NOTICE: Make sure that the exhaust flexible pipe is not forcibly bent.

     General Equipment : Cable Ties

1. Special Tool(s) : 303-F072 Support Bar, Engine

1. NOTICE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

   NOTICE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.

1. General Equipment : Transmission Jack
   General Equipment : Wooden Block
   General Equipment : Retaining Strap

1. Lower the engine and transmission approximately an inch and a half to gain access for transmission removal.
   Special Tool(s) : 303-F072 Support Bar, Engine
