Safety Belt Retractor and Pretensioner

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Depower the SRS .
    Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, General Procedures).
  1. NOTE: To avoid damage to the trim panels, remove the clips from the body and attach them to the trim panels before installing.

  1. NOTE: Inspect the safety belt D-ring cover for damage and replace D-ring cover if damaged.

  1. Torque : 40 Nm
    1. Torque : 40 Nm
    1. Passenger side.
  1. NOTICE: Do not pull the electrical connector out by the locking button. Damage to the locking button can occur.

    1. Passenger side.
    1. Torque : 14 Nm
    1. Torque : 40 Nm

Installation

  1. NOTE: Before installation, make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.

    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Repower the SRS .
    Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, General Procedures).
  1. Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
