Removal

NOTICE: Suspension fasteners are critical parts that affect performance of vital components and systems. Failure of these fasteners may result in major service expense. Use the same or equivalent parts if replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser quality or substitute design. Tighten fasteners as specified.

  1. Loosen :
      5 turn(s)
  1. Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04A Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).
  1. On both sides.
    Refer to: Spring (204-02 Rear Suspension, Removal and Installation).
  1. On both sides.
    General Equipment : Flat Headed Screw Driver
  1. On both sides.

  1. NOTE: Cap the brake tube connections to prevent fluid loss.

    On both sides.

  1. General Equipment : Transmission Jack
  1. On both sides.

Installation

  1. Torque :
    1   25 Nm
    2   125 Nm
  1. NOTE: Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.

    Torque :
    1   17 Nm
    2   10 Nm

    General Equipment : Vehicle/Axle Stands

    Torque : 115 Nm

  1. NOTE: The brake shoes and parking brake cables must both be adjusted to assure correct rear drum brake and parking brake system operation.
