Input Shaft Seal

Removal

  1. Refer to: Clutch Slave Cylinder - Vehicles With: 5-Speed Manual Transmission - B5/IB5 (308-02 Clutch Controls - Vehicles With: 5-Speed Manual Transmission - B5/IB5/6-Speed Manual Transmission - B6, Removal and Installation).

  1. NOTICE: Take extra care not to damage the bearing.

    General Equipment : Center Punch
    1. 2.5 x 15 mm self-tapping screw

Installation

    1. NOTICE: Use adhesive tape to cover the input shaft splines to prevent damage to the input shaft seal.

      General Equipment : Adhesive Tape

    1. NOTE: Make sure that a new component is installed.

    1. Special Tool(s) : 205-068 Installer, Drive Pinion Bearing
    1. Remove the adhesive tape from the input shaft splines.
