2003 VW Jetta Wagon GLS 1.8T
Euro Switch install

06/11/03 - I ordered this Euro Switch as part of a VW Vortex forum group buy - CLICK HERE for a link. $40 shipped! A GREAT deal. Senna 1.8T is the man - look him up for the same deal on the Euro Switch. Installation was a breeze. Including the time it took me to tape off the TFL pin (Daytime Running Lights) it took about 10 minutes. Sweet! I love being able to control my lights. Make sure you disconnect the negative battery terminal from your battery before beginning this mod.

There is a tab marked TFL (You can see it here, it's the third from the right in the upper row), this is the one which regulates the Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). If you want to disable the DRLs you can do that by either bending the pin over, cutting it off or, as I did, putting a piece of tape over it. I used regular electrical tape and made sure I covered the entire tab. 111K click for full size image

Twist about a half inch and then pull the whole assembly out. It should slide easily. 90K click for full size image

If you are taping off the TFL tab, you may need to apply some pressure to get the harness together because you now have some tape to force in. Next, put the whole assembly back into the dash and insert it the reverse way you took the original out. It's just that simple. Here is a pic of the finished look. 89K click for full size image
