2003 VW Jetta Wagon GLS 1.8T

History

This car came new from the dealer in 5/2003. I love it. I wanted a new Jetta Wagon that was basically stock (no sports, cold weather, leather, or premium sound package, etc.) with the 1.8T engine in black w/ tan or grey interior. I was lucky and got what I wanted. I called a bunch of local VW dealerships and Brian at Alexandria VW (no longer w/ them) found exactly what I wanted. I now have a pretty blank slate with which to work. Now I only have to find some money to pay for my chalk!

Notes

Rear bumper - it's long. In 2002 VW changed to a longer rear bumper b/c of Canadian regulations. A swap can be done. There are more kits available for rear bumpers from the '02 and earlier vintage. '03 and up require more modification of the rear valance/skirt.
Sources for '02 and earlier rear valance kits:
Zender, Votex and OEM VW 4-Motion...The Votex and 4-motion require cutting...not sure with the Zender.
Caractere and Oettinger also make a valance for the rear
-Front end - car is sold as a Golf Variant Estate in Europe, etc. Front-end swap is OK - "Getta"
