Ben Sullivan's Model Railroad
The Georgetown Branch: Equipment
Photos and descriptions of motive power and other equipment you might find on the Georgetown Branch. Also, a collection of links to images of similar locomotives, etc.
Over the years that the GB existed, many different types of motive power could be seen working the line. Especially in the latter years when motive power was a real potpourri coming out of Eckington Yard. What I've done here is try to outline some typical (and some unusual) classes/types of locomotives which you would see working the GB. I have culled most of this information from the Baltimore & Ohio RR Yahoo! Group and from Duane Carrell's sidebar to his article on the Georgetown Branch in the B&O Historical Society's quarterly magazine "The Sentinel", entitled "Motive Power". You can download the sidebar and read the news group postings on the Yahoo! site - see my LINKS page. If you have any corrections, additions, comments or donations to this page, PLEASE email me! I'm always looking for more info.
