The Georgetown Branch: Equipment Photos and descriptions of motive power and other equipment you might find on the Georgetown Branch. Also, a collection of links to images of similar locomotives, etc. |
|
Over the years that the GB existed, many different types of motive power could be seen working the line. Especially in the latter years when motive power was a real potpourri coming out of Eckington Yard. What I've done here is try to outline some typical (and some unusual) classes/types of locomotives which you would see working the GB. I have culled most of this information from the Baltimore & Ohio RR Yahoo! Group and from Duane Carrell's sidebar to his article on the Georgetown Branch in the B&O Historical Society's quarterly magazine "The Sentinel", entitled "Motive Power". You can download the sidebar and read the news group postings on the Yahoo! site - see my LINKS page. If you have any corrections, additions, comments or donations to this page, PLEASE email me! I'm always looking for more info. | |
