First off, best wishes to all! Latest development is the ongoing Helix design. I've posted a new screen capture in the Layout section.

An item I dug up at a B&ORRHS Archives sorting session, this book (33pgs) includes diagrams of all of the bridges on the GB. Go to the History page to view. It's in the "OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS" section.

Another item I dug up at a B&ORRHS Archives sorting session, this memo (2 pgs) describes the need for coal to use in the Georgeown Freight House since the steam switcher was replaced by a diesel. Pinpoints the rough date when the steam switcher left the branch; 1945. Go to the History page to view. It's in the "OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS" section.
Helix Construction photos & update to GB Notes

I started cutting plywood for the helix yesterday. Got off to a good start. I completely changed the design of the helix itself. Read more in the Gallery. I also added Georgetown Branch Notes, Part 3 to the History section.

Sorry not a lot has been going on here for a while. I have been busy with several other projects and progress on the layout has halted. I have collected some more information for my research on the GB, including photos, stories, and a great book about the Georgetown waterfront. I have been asked to give a presentation on the GB for the B&O RR Historical Society's 2005 Brunswick Mini-Con. It will be fun so register if you haven't already! I hope to get going on the layout soon. I am still having a hard time visualizing some elements of the track plan, which is really keeping me away. But, eventually I'll get over those hurdles and back on track. (pardon the pun)

I recently took a tour up the Potomac and snapped some shots of the Georgetown waterfront area from the river. There is some neat stuff in there. The photos are located in the Gallery section. Thanks!

I know it's been a long time since an update. Nearly 3 months. Well, not much has happened on the layout and I've been busy with other projects lately, namely family travel & installing a network in my home, which is also going slow. Having a family is wonderful but eats into the precious model RR time greatly. :) So, a few things. I've got new layout plans, look for those to be posted soon. I've revised the design further, making a bit more efficient use of the space. I've updated my DCC Price List and added a Layout Height Study to the Layout section.

The presentation back in August went very well. I got some good feedback and folks seemed to enjoy it. I hope to one day post the presentation to this site, but because of some of the images I used it may be tough. We'll see. It's also huge, with over 150 pages.

At recent B&ORRHS Archives sorting sessions several GB related blueprints and track charts surfaced. The documents have been scanned and I'm waiting for the files before I post them here.

I picked up a couple of the Funaro & Camerlengo B&O Wagon Top Boxcar kits. I love the buy-one-get-one-free sale that F&C has at Timonium. I worked the B&ORRHS table and got to see some familiar faces and catch up with friends. It's always a good time. Please check back soon for more updates.
