The Georgetown Branch: Gallery: 03_30_02-gb These images are stills from video I shot using a Canon GL-1 MiniDV Digital Video camera. The video is part of a documentary that I am working on concerning the history of the Georgetown Branch. On this day I shot footage from Georgetown Jct. to the Rock Creek trestle. 03_30_02-gb01.jpg Looking northwestward, I have circled the signal that still exists. This signal would protect trains coming off the branch. I don't know what era this signal is a relic of. |

03_30_02-gb03.jpg View southeast. One can see the signal placement to the right protecting the branch. The bridge in the background is a very old one-lane auto bridge. It still carries Talbot Ave. across the tracks - see map! Also note the derail located several yards in front of the camera. The tracks continue a few hundred yards behind the camera. |
