The Georgetown Branch - Ben Sullivan
The Georgetown Branch: Gallery: Let there be lights!

11/27/2004 - Hung the fluorescent light fixtures. I used Phillips 40w, 48", T12, 1.5" width "Daylight Deluxe" bulbs. They have a light output of 2325 lumens, Color rendering of 84 and Color Temperature of 6500K. So far they look good. The fixtures are run-of-the-mill Home Depot "workshop" type. I used clips mounted to the drop ceiling beams to mount the lights and plugged them in to the outlets in the ceiling I had previously wired up. The light is super-bright; perfect for a model railroad.
Pics Lamp being installed. You can see that the clips allow the light to be mounted flush with the ceiling for a very clean install; VERY important to me due to low (7') ceiling clearance.
Pics Another, turned on.
Pics Panel removed to allow for hookup.
