After lunch we moved the scaffolding around to the North end of the shed to repair the detiorated sheathing and framing. The Shed has suffered trememdous damage here with years of neglect. Some of the wooden footers have disentegrated allowing the framing to actually drop; note the center post. This project will be on the FEBT list once some other, more pertinent (if you can believe it) projects are completed. Lee Rainey & Tom Kozub are on the Scaffold. |

The center post is in the top left corner. You can see where it has dropped through the rotted footer. |

The construction here is mortise & tenon with wood pegs. Note the light rail end poking out. |

Charlie inspecting the roof. We used old lumber from inside the shed for this project. We try and make use of whatever we can that is original to the Railroad. This works to keep the authenticity of the work we do. |

Lee Rainey down below inspecting the situation. The view was spectacular from up there, but unfortunately I ran out of space on my memory card and had to wait until I got down to take more pics. |

Back on the ground, near the end of the day, here is the Boiler House door, completely refurbished! Window sash repaired, new paint. |

Side dump hopper car, at the end of the day. They've removed most rotted sheet metal from the doors and bottom of the car. New pieces will be built and installed. |

Crawling inside the car, here are some views of the interior. This is looking along the frame. |
